Meet the Owner and Baker, Behind the Bites
Hi, I’m Waynetta Black, the founder of Neighborhood Bite Bakery. While I hold a Bachelor's degree in English Language Arts Education and a Master's degree in Career & Technical Education—with concentrations in Instructional Technology and Curriculum Instruction—my heart has always belonged in the kitchen.
I’ve spent years in education and training, working as an English teacher, an instructional designer for the FAA and HUD, and most recently as a Learning & Development Curriculum Manager for a hospitality company with a strong focus on catering and culinary operations. It was in that role that my passion for food—and specifically baking—was reignited. That spark led me right back to where I’ve always found joy: creating sweet moments through homemade treats. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I’m also a proud mom and wife who believes in the power of good neighborly values, thoughtful hospitality, and beautiful presentation. Those beliefs are at the core of everything we do at Neighborhood Bite Bakery. Here, we’re not just baking cookies, cakes, or pastries—we’re crafting experiences that feel familiar, welcoming, and made with love.

I've been whipping up sweet creations for as long as I can remember—what started as a childhood passion quickly grew into a calling. With years of experience working in restaurants and catering, I've learned the ins and outs of the food world and fallen even more in love with it along the way.
I’m obsessed with all things food—trying new flavors, exploring different cuisines, and, of course, indulging in sweets. My goal is to bring that same joy to your table with baked goods that feel homemade, thoughtful, and just a little nostalgic. Whether it’s a cookie inspired by your favorite childhood snack or a custom creation for a special moment, everything I make is crafted with care, flavor, and a neighborly touch.
